// 2. How our review scores work

Every CriticalPixel review is scored on a 0–100 scale across four dimensions — gameplay, story, art, and fun. Scores are written by community members based on their own playtime, not assigned by an algorithm or influenced by publishers. A game's overall rating is the aggregate of its community reviews.

// 3. How our price comparison works

We track prices in real time across 10+ official stores and key marketplaces, refreshing every few minutes. For each game we surface the best current price, the discount versus the original, and all-time-low history, with support for 25+ regional currencies. The canonical place to check a game's live prices is its game page, e.g. /games/{slug}.

// 4. Editorial independence

CriticalPixel is independent. Review scores are community-driven and are never sold or influenced by stores or publishers. Some store links may be affiliate links that help fund the platform; these never affect which price is shown as the best deal or how reviews are scored.

CriticalPixel was built by a solo developer with a passion for games. No corporate backing, no publisher influence — just someone who spends way too much time thinking about frame rates, review scores, and whether a game is actually worth the price tag. Every feature on this platform, from the community reviews to the real-time price comparison across 10+ stores, was built to answer the same questions every gamer asks before hitting "buy": Is this game good? Can my PC run it? And am I getting the best deal? The project launched in 2025 and continues to grow alongside its community.
