GTA 6 Reveals Six Radio Stations With Bad Bunny, Lana Del Rey and Slayer Hosts, Plus On-Foot Listening and Podcasts

GTA 6 Reveals Six Radio Stations With Bad Bunny, Lana Del Rey and Slayer Hosts, Plus On-Foot Listening and Podcasts

Rockstar finally gave GTA 6 fans something to listen to, and it is a bigger reveal than a station list usually deserves. A new music site is live with previews of six radio stations, the hosts behind them and a handful of confirmed songs, all arriving ahead of the November 19 launch. The headline names are Bad Bunny, Lana Del Rey, Morgan Wallen, Burna Boy and Slayer's Kerry King and Tom Araya, which is a wild lineup to hand to fictional DJ booths. Even better for anyone who spent years stuck inside a car to hear a track, Rockstar says you will be able to listen on foot. Radio is the part of the series that built its identity, and this reveal landed with more substance than most trailers do.

Six Stations, Six Very Different Vibes

According to IGN's rundown of the reveal, the stations are Cocoteo FM, Back Country Radio, AfroBank FM, The Chamber 106.6, Flash FM and Dirty South Classics. Cocoteo FM covers modern Latin music with El Martillo, voiced by Bad Bunny, and La Gata, voiced by RaiNao, running through bachata, merengue, dembow and reggaeton. Back Country Radio serves renegade country with MW, voiced by Morgan Wallen, and Delta Dawne, voiced by Lana Del Rey, plus a roving airboat reporter named Mud Dog Mike, voiced by Jeremy Dufrene. AfroBank FM brings amapiano, 3-step and African classics with Burna Boy and Palms Trax as Burna and Palmsy. The Chamber 106.6 plays 1980s heavy metal and beyond, run by Kerry King and Tom Araya as DJ Kerry and DJ Tom. Flash FM returns from Vice City with Robyn and Alex Consani, and Dirty South Classics hands regional rap and hip-hop to Trick Daddy and Trina.

The song samples are where it gets interesting. Cocoteo FM is previewing Bad Bunny with EoO and Romeo Santos with Canalla, while Back Country leans on David Allan Coe, Loretta Lynn and a Hank Williams Jr. and Waylon Jennings duet called The Conversation. AfroBank FM lists Asake, Pat Thomas with Ebo Taylor, and DJ Lag with Robot Boii and Kamo Mphela. The Chamber is playing Black Sabbath, Pantera and Slayer's Raining Blood, Flash FM has Charli xcx, MGMT and a Zara Larsson and PinkPantheress collab, and Dirty South Classics lines up David Banner, JT Money and DJ Khaled with Trick Daddy, Rick Ross and Pitbull. That is a spread of old favorites, current hits and original DJ banter. The IGN report notes it is unclear whether Rockstar will publish the full tracklist before launch, so treat this as a sampler and not the final setlist.

Radio on Foot and On-Demand Podcasts

The feature that matters most is not a station at all. Rockstar confirmed that GTA 6 lets you listen to on-demand podcasts and radio stations while walking, using headphones and your in-game phone, according to IGN. For the series' whole history, radio has been locked to vehicles and a few select buildings, which made every on-foot firefight and stroll through a city feel oddly silent. Now music can follow you into combat and exploration, which is how plenty of open-world games already work. It is a quality-of-life fix that sounds small until you remember IGN calls it something fans have wanted for years. GameRant also flags the podcasts as a first for the series. Rockstar's own page pitches the lineup as everything from classic rock to talk radio, and none of the six stations shown is a classic rock one, so more of the dial is clearly being held back.

The Album Lands the Same Day

The same Rockstar page sells Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, listed for November 19 with 34 original songs. Six singles are already out, including That's It from Yung Lean with Future and Metro Boomin, RHYNO by Travis Scott, Last Thing You Need by Morgan Wallen, Macacoa 2000 by Rauw Alejandro and Bright Lights, Big City by Keith Richards. The sixth, Sexy Magic, is a multi-artist collaboration with CA7RIEL and Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress and Etienne de Crecy among the names. There is a digital pre-save, plus vinyl and CD pre-orders, so the soundtrack is also a product that gets sold before a single player has touched the game. That is smart business, and it also means the music rollout is doing marketing work while the gameplay stays under wraps.

    What Fans Are Saying

Reaction under IGN's post leans positive with some grumbling. A couple of replies named The Chamber 106.6 as the station they will tune to first, and others were just glad that November feels close. The complaints are predictable: one reply worried that six stations seems light, and another argued that radio reveals are the cheapest part of a hype cycle because licensed music dates quickly, so the real test is how many original stations and DJs Rockstar builds against how many needle drops it licenses. A third joked that Rockstar could reveal the color of the protagonist's shoes and it would make headlines. That is a small sample of early replies, not a consensus, and it will look different once people hear the previews and the jokes start flying.

    The CriticalPixel Take

Here is my read. Six stations is a modest number for a game sold as the biggest one yet, and holding the rest back is classic Rockstar pacing, but it makes this reveal a teaser dressed up as a catalog. The celebrity hosts are the loud part, and I would rather see Rockstar show the writing. GTA radio lives or dies on the fake ads, the DJ chatter and the unhinged callers, and a Bad Bunny voice credit tells me nothing about whether Cocoteo FM is actually funny. The metal station and the Mud Dog Mike airboat reporter are the pieces that sound like real Rockstar satire, and those are what I will judge it on. On-foot listening is the real win, and it should have been in this series ages ago.

With launch on November 19, the radio push also says something about where the marketing is heading: music, culture and personality ahead of any big gameplay showing. If Rockstar keeps dripping these out over the next six weeks, expect more stations, more DJs and a tracklist that keeps fans busy. For now the dial has six stops, a podcast app and a pair of headphones, and that is plenty to start arguing about.
