Doctor Doom Leads the Knights of Doom Into MARVEL Tokon
Arc System Works just dropped the Doctor Doom character trailer for MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls, and the hype is real. The ruthless ruler of Latveria brings his advanced armor and arcane magic to the 4v4 tag team fighter, voiced by SungWon Cho in English and Takaya Hashi in Japanese. This reveal comes on the heels of the State of Play where Magneto, Green Goblin, and Carnage were all confirmed as part of the Knights of Doom team, making this the fourth and most villain-heavy roster addition yet.
The Knights of Doom Roster Takes Shape
The Knights of Doom are shaping up to be the most stacked villain team in the game. Magneto, voiced by James Arnold Taylor, turns the battlefield into a weapon by hurling surrounding objects at enemies, with shattered debris lingering on stage to enhance his abilities. Green Goblin, brought to life by Steve Blum, rides his bat-shaped glider and excels at high-speed movement while peppering opponents with Razor Bats and Pumpkin Bombs. Carnage, voiced by Kellen Goff, transforms his arms into bladed weapons and uses symbiote tendrils to inflict a temporary symbiote-infested state that drains enemy health through guards. Each character brings a distinct playstyle that should make the Knights of Doom a versatile and aggressive team.
The main antagonist, The Champion of the Universe, was also revealed as an Elder who has lived for billions of years, traveling from planet to planet in search of worthy opponents. Voiced by Sean Kenin Elias Reyes, The Champion threatens to annihilate Earth if no team can satisfy him in combat. This narrative framework gives the tournament mode real stakes beyond just bragging rights.
State of Play Momentum and Community Reaction
The State of Play broadcast has already pulled 6.4 million views across English and Japanese uploads, and MARVEL Tokon was one of the standout reveals. Community reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, especially around the Japanese voice cast selections. The choice of Kazuhiro Yamaji for Green Goblin drew particular praise, with fans noting the full-circle moment of casting the Japanese voice of Willem Dafoe's portrayal in the Spider-Man films. The game is set to launch August 6, 2026 on PS5 and PC, with a playable demo hitting Evo 2026 in Las Vegas on June 26 where attendees can try Magneto and the new Night version of the Marvel's New York stage.
CriticalPixel Take
Arc System Works continues to prove they are the best studio Marvel could have partnered with for a fighting game. The character designs are faithful yet fresh, the voice cast selections show genuine respect for both the English and Japanese dubbing traditions, and the 4v4 format gives this a distinct identity compared to every other Marvel fighter on the market. With one final team left to reveal and the Evo demo just weeks away, MARVEL Tokon is building serious momentum heading into summer. The real question is whether the gameplay can match the incredible presentation Arc System Works is delivering.
