While receiving his on-the-job training, a bird named Kiopioke is struck by lightning. Kiopioke awakes to discover a broken wing and a voice beckoning. A wise bird teaches Kiopioke a new technique which allows birds to poke into walls, build tension, and then launch into the air. It's not flight but it is effective, and quite enjoyable. Now Kiopioke must use this knowledge to get back home, as a hungry cat lurks in the shadows...
