In his last year of college, the protagonist's attendance faltered, and with it fell his grades. Rather than going to his classes he was caught loitering on campus daily. In order to rectify this he was offered a chance to partake in the "Coward's Committee". On arriving he found it dead. Save for the supervisor, no one else bothered to show up. With little else left to bide time, he accepted this outcome, thinking he could use it to learn more about the only people who ever mattered to him.
